New fees for not maintaining Village properties:
Reminder to all property owners within the Village of New Berlin:
It is the property owner’s responsibility to maintain their property in a manner that ensures a safe and healthy environment for all Village residents and guests. During the spring/summer growing season, this includes mowing of frontage lawns and those grassy areas abutting neighboring properties. Property owners not in compliance with this requirement will receive notice from the Village allowing adequate time to remedy the situation. If not remedied in the allotted time or if an urgent danger exists, the Village Board has authorized the DPW to take necessary and appropriate action to ensure safety of all residents/guests. Property owners will be assessed a $150 fee per mowing.
In the winter season, local laws also require clearance of sidewalks within 24 hours of a snowfall. Property owners not in compliance will be assessed a $150 fee per shoveling/salting of sidewalks.
