The Village Board

Mayor: Peter Lennon, Fire Commissioner-  Peter (Pete) Lennon is the son of the late Dr. Donald and Mrs. Louise Lennon who provided general dental services to New Berlin and the surrounding area for several decades.  He was raised just across the river in Pittsfield and graduated from New Berlin Central School.  Upon graduation from Bucknell University, where he earned a dual BS/BA degree in Civil Engineering, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army. He later earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Pennsylvania.  Peter served for nearly 40 years as a logistician in both the Active Army and Army Reserve, with numerous assignments throughout the United States, Germany, Hungary, Iraq, and Kuwait. He retired in 2017 as a Major (two-star) General from Fort Bragg, North Carolina and soon returned home to the Village of New Berlin.  His wife, Elaine, a native of Little Falls, New York, is a consultant in Nuclear Medicine Physics to numerous hospitals and private imaging centers in the Catskills and Northern New Jersey.  Peter continues to serve as an advisor to numerous economic development and wellness programs throughout the Southern Tier and Mohawk Valley and is on the advisory board of various national programs that support our Veterans.
